What You Need to Know About Stomach Flatulence

Stomach flatulence can cause you embarrassing moments in your life. This is also problem that can give you discomfort and burning. The embarrassment can come at times when you do not expect it, when you are with other people. Even how hard you try to stop the gas from coming out, it would not be enough. Breaking the wind or passing gases out of the body is normal. The human body can release extra air out of the stomach up to fourteen times a day. But if you do so more than this normal frequency, you may have a problem already.

Symptoms of Flatulence

There are certain symptoms that can tell you if you already need to start looking for a flatulence remedy. Farting or the release of air from the rectum is the main symptom of too much stomach flatulence. When a person farts, it could be a silent or comes with a little sound. Sometimes, a fart or burp is also smelly. There are many other symptoms of this problem based on the gassy condition of the body:

  • Take caraway oil together with peppermint oil to relieve you of the discomfort of a bloated tummy.
  • Grind a teaspoon of dry ginger, a teaspoon of pepper and a teaspoon of green cardamom seeds. Get all these herbs and spices together and add half a teaspoon of the mixture into a glass of water. Drink it an hour after a meal.

Recommended Flatulence Diet

The right diet in this case means controlling your consumption of those foods that get more air into your abdomen. There is an effective diet that can help solve stomach flatulence.   • Legumes such as lima beans, dried beans, baked beans, peas, and soy beans and most beans
  • Vegetables such as cabbage, onions, radishes, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cucumbers, kohlrabi, sauerkraut, and asparagus
  • Root vegetables such as turnips, potatoes, and rutabaga
  • Dairy products such as ice cream, milk and cheese
  • Fatty foods such as fatty meats, pan-fried foods, rich cream sauces, deep-fried foods, pastries, and gravies
  • Cereals and breads such as those that have wheat and wheat products
  • Liquids such as medications, carbonated beverages and powders

There is a trial flatulence diet that you can follow in two different ways:

  • Resume with your diet being the same except you take out one category of the gas-inducing foods. The categories named above can be used in the category elimination. This diet needs to be applied for a week. If you cannot see any reduction in the gas production, put back the same foods into your diet and take out another category. Repeat the same process until your flatulence diet reaches a point when you no longer fart or burp in at excessive times every day.
  • Do not eat the categories of foods that trigger your problem for three to four days straight. After this period, start eating one food at a time to your meals for three to four days. If the foods do not trigger the problem, you can keep eating them. Eliminate those that cause you to fart or belch excessively.
  • The offending foods that you have identified though can still be taken but at smaller amounts. For instance, you can control your milk consumption from two glasses to one glass per day. Your food tolerance can be acquired if you only know how to control your diet. Take and reintroduce these offending foods to your system until your stomach is used to them. How to Prevent Too Much Stomach Flatulence

Stomach flatulence can be prevented. The main preventive measure is avoiding the offending foods that trigger your excessive burping and farting. The other preventive measures include the following:

  • Do some things that encourage proper digestion. These can include things like walking around for a while after eating. This way, you can avoid experiencing stomach flatulence after eating.
  • Do not go to bed after eating. This will only cause indigestion and a gassy condition.
  • Do not chew gum or eat hard candies to avoid swallowing too much air. Try to control smoking as well.
  • Eat and drink slowly so as to avoid gulping in more air than necessary.
  • Include some herbs and spices into your diet that can help prevent air accumulation in your abdomen. These include parsley, cardamoms, ginger, and more.
